Account information: name, email address, date of birth, password, profile photo. Profile and competitive information: game titles played, in-game usernames/handles, rank, statistics, team history, highlight clips, tournament results, academic information (e.g., GPA, graduation year, school) if voluntarily provided for recruiting purposes. Communications: messages sent through the Service, support requests, and survey responses. Institutional User information: organization name, role, verification documents used to confirm recruiting authority. Parental consent information (Minor Users): parent/guardian name, email, and consent records as described in Section 6.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
Usage data: pages viewed, features used, search queries, referring URLs, timestamps. Device and log data: IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers. Cookies and similar technologies: used for authentication, preferences, and analytics (see Section 7).
1.3 Information from Third Parties
Game publisher APIs or connected accounts you authorize (e.g., to import stats or verify rank). Single sign-on providers, if you register or log in via a third-party account. Publicly available competitive/tournament results.
2. How We Use Information
We use collected information to: Create and maintain your account and profile; Connect Players with Institutional Users (universities, esports organizations, professional teams) for recruiting and networking purposes; Verify identity, age, and (for Minor Users) parental consent; Operate, maintain, and improve the Service, including troubleshooting and analytics; Communicate with you about your account, opportunities, and Service updates; Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, and safety violations, particularly conduct affecting Minor Users; Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use Minor User information for targeted advertising.
4. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Minor User data is retained only as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, and a parent or guardian may request earlier deletion at any time (see Section 6.4).
5. Your Rights and Choices

6. Children's Privacy and Parental Rights (COPPA)
Contendr takes special care with users under 18, consistent with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and applicable state law.
6.1 Users Under 13
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 13 without verified parental consent, we will delete it promptly. 6.2 Minor Users (13–17)
Before a Minor User's account is activated, we require: Verified parent or guardian contact information; Affirmative parental consent to the collection, use, and limited disclosure of the minor's information as described in this Policy; A clear explanation to the parent/guardian of what information is collected and how it will be used and shared with Institutional Users.
6.3 Parental Controls

6.4 Data Minimization for Minors
We collect only the information reasonably necessary for a Minor User to participate in recruiting and networking on the Service, and we do not use Minor User data for behavioral advertising.
8. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including access controls and encryption in transit for data handled through our infrastructure providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. International Users
The Service is hosted in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the U.S., you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have different data-protection laws than your country.
10. Third-Party Links
The Service may contain links to third-party websites or integrate with third-party platforms (e.g., game publisher accounts). This Policy does not apply to those third parties, and we encourage you to review their privacy practices separately.
